Busy Bees
July 18th, 2006 - 03:12pm
It has been over 8 months since the last update here at Inimit and that is definately not to say we haven't been busy. On the contrary, we have been busy as ever and have made some huge acomplishments.
First off, the Canada on Rails conference, produced by Inimit Innovations Inc. which was previously mentioned went off extremely well. Close to 300 people attended this sold-out event at BCIT's downtown campuses. We had not only the 9 initial speakers promised, but 6 more totalling 15 world-wide experts who spoke during this two day event.
We have tons of video of this event, and are currently working on getting it professionally edited to release in DVD format which is planned for sometime in late August to hit the shelves.
In other news, Inimit was incorporated back in January, which marks a much needed milestone. Inimit Innovations has been in business since June of 2003 under a sole proprietorship, and is now incorporated under the new legal name of Inimit Innovations Inc.
Inimit has been working diligently on expanding our core focus of Ruby on Rails, and have since launched a very functional and eye-opening SR&ED Calculator with our client Technology Incentives Inc.. We are currently working on Phase 2 of this calculator, and a number of other major enhancements to the site. Stay tunned for that.
Blueprint Counselling's Tori Rayne is leading a Sacred England Tour coming up in May 2007, and she requested we update her site to add the functionality to manage banners letting her visitors know about this special event. In addition, we also implemented a dynamic component allowing her to report on her latest insights on the Blog.
The cool cats over at Knotty Boy Dreads have been making the most out of Canada Post's automated tools. Inimit has been working closely with their team, and had recommended some major advancements in business process automation to save labour costs and subsequently directly increase their profits.
Inimit's President, Nathaniel Brown was contracted by E-xact Transactions, a local Vancouver merchant procesing company, to be a hired gun as the Ruby on Rails, AJAX & CSS expert to assist with an internal prototype for a meeting which resulted in making the presentation a major success.
On the Ruby on Rails front, Inimit has expanded our Open Source education system and are now providing professional grade workshops through Rails Workshops. In addition to the two successful workshops which have come and gone, we have several upcoming which may be of note. The soonest being Nathaniel Brown's free mini-workshop "Getting Really Started with Ruby on Rails" to be presented by the Vancouver Ruby Association which has over 50 attendees already RSVP'd for this event happening next week on Wednesday the 26th of July at 6:30pm.
Other major news, we have moved! Our new offices are located close to the beautiful Jericho and Kitsilano beaches in Vancouver.
As always, if you have a desire to automate any part of your business, expand into online sales, or increase your organizations exposure, please do contact us.
Our commitment is simple. If we don't help you generate more value than the cost of development, we haven't succeeded.

As CSS designs are becoming more and more popular, designers are finding themselves needing to brush up their skills and learn the new methodology of creating a CSS based design.
