Inimit Innovations Inc.
Having been in business since 1997, Inimit has been building websites and applications just after the inception of the PHP programming language. Today, Inimit has had the opportunity to work with many business each with their own goals and objectives. At Inimit, we have come into our own and identified our experience with PHP stands out quite bright compared to other firms. With this new reflection in mind, we felt it was time to launch a new design for the site and demonstrate our understanding of the technology we use everyday and provide a valuable informational website for those considering our services for their organization.
Challenge
Here at Inimit, we wanted to reflect our skills in all facets of media creation. From photography, website design, to advanced web development. Our goal was to create a new website that reflected our skillset and provided inspiration for new clients to get on board with our services. With that in mind, our key objective was to use the latest technology and utilize the research acquired for unparralelled Search Engine Optimization techniques.
Solution
We started with a existing, solid brand and updated it to reflect our reaffirming commitment to be Innovative, to continually improve and grow from past experience. Previously the Inimit logo reflected a dual blue tone logo which had a simple feel to it, but left viewers with a question. What is Inimit?
After researching through the competition and seeing how their websites functioned and looked, we decied to implement a basic custom eCommerce solution. This involved building on top of the Toolbawks framework and implementing some advanced functionality to search for domains, and add products and services to the cart. This will serve as a launch pad for future developments to automate the entire shared hosting process. At the time of launch, we decided to go with the most simple and trustworthy method of transaction processing and leave the credit card information for the sales team to acquire personally.
The implementation of the website design was done using XHTML 1.0 and CSS. This new approach to developing the design layer greatly increases Search Engine Optimization as well as provided a very simple means of having multiple themes for each section of the website. There are a total of 13 themes of the site, providing a unique photo for each theme. All photos were taken by Inimit around our Headquarter location in Vancouver, BC.
Results
With the growing functionality Inimit has been investing in Toolbawks, a powerful suite of Open Source tools, the website has been increasingly more efficient at deploying out-of-the-box Search Engine frienly websites. The query string contains no ?'s or &'s, resulting in a clean location which search engines prefer. The XHTML code is simplified including no design logic, all of which is stored within a CSS document corresponding to each unique theme.
Viewers are able to instantly purchase their desired colocation, shared hosting, or managed hosting solution. They are also able to search for as many domain names as they like with real-time feedback on the status of each. If by chance, the domain they were looking or is unavailable, Inimit has implemented additional functionality to provide multiple recommendations based upon domain extensions (.com, .net, .org, .ca, .name, .biz, .info) as well as popular keywords which are integrated into the name itself.
